Nikon has been using light to improve our world for 100 years, and to celebrate this milestone anniversary, it has launched a dedicated website alongside a video that traces the impressive history of Nikon. Since its establishment as Nippon Kogaku K.K. in 1917, Nikon has provided the world with unique value based on its mastering of opto-electronics and precision technologies. Nikon will celebrate the 100th anniversary throughout 2017 with special acknowledgment of the company’s launch on July 25th of this year.
Serving as a great kick-off to the 100th anniversary year, Nikon Precision hosted its annual LithoVision technical symposium on Sunday, February 26, at the City National Civic Auditorium in San Jose, CA. The anniversary video was shown during the technical presentations, and a timeline of key optical and precision technology milestones across the 100 year span was on display. During the evening session, there was an interactive poster session and reception. LithoVision’s exceptional technical content and enjoyable social format made this year’s event a tremendous success.
Just a step ahead of the 100 year celebration, the Nikon Museum was launched. With a rich and vital history worth celebrating, this venue allows visitors to experience the legacy and innovations of Nikon. In addition to the museum, an overview of how Nikon has pursued, advanced, and explored the possibilities of light for a century can be viewed at the Nikon 100th anniversary website as well.
Nikon sincerely thanks everyone for their support in the development of our company over its 100 year history. We are excited and truly humbled by this achievement, and look forward to the next 100 where we will continue to create new solutions for a brighter future.
