Spotlight on Nikon Corporate Social Responsibility Programs

Through its Charitable Contributions Committee (CCC), Nikon supports a number of charitable and non-profit organizations with employee involvement and financial contributions. While many national organizations receive ongoing annual contributions, Nikon employees are also encouraged to recommend support for local and regional charitable endeavors.

During the past year, the Burlington, Vermont office hosted two charitable golf tournaments with colleagues and friends that raised funds for the American Cancer Society.

In addition to ongoing support of local area foodbanks including Second Harvest, during the holidays volunteers from Nikon headquarters in Belmont, California prepared and served meals at Samaritan House in San Mateo. Samaritan House has been serving low-income families and individuals in San Mateo County since 1974. Their services are designed to meet the immediate and basic needs of residents for food, clothing, shelter, health care, worker resources, and counseling services.

Every September, employees in Belmont participate in the San Francisco Bay Area Heart Walk, and the company hosts a booth with promotional items for all walkers. Most recently, employees and friends in the Belmont office joined people around the world wearing yellow on March 27 to show support for a 5-year-old boy with a debilitating immune disorder as he faced another operation. “#wearyellowforseth”.
